This is exactly why I do not expect them to. Instead of forcing a rigid pose, I build in movement. A clean white background keeps the frame simple, while controlled lighting freezes the action and keeps skin tones consistent, even mid-jump. The result is sharp, dynamic, and full of personality instead of frustration.
In a school setting, some children are naturally calm. Others are pure energy. Both photograph beautifully when you know how to work with them instead of against them. I move quickly, anticipate the moment, and capture expressions between the motion.
All preschool sessions are photographed on location at schools throughout Chester County, the Main Line, and the Philadelphia area. Families receive a small gallery of strong images, and retouching is always included.
