We had spring-like weather at this January wedding at the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square, Pa. Despite snow the weeks before, the weather warmed up and we had drizzles all day long. Everyone took it in stride and we were able to get some really cool rainy day photos of the couple, in addition to traditional wedding portraits like this one of the bride and groom standing on the front steps. A slight breeze came along at just the right time to pick up the bride's veil, and her long train stayed perfectly put on the stairs.
The Ballroom at Ellis Preserve is a newer venue to the Chester County and Delaware County areas, and is is a perfect spot for a modern wedding. The food is delicious, and the service is top notch. The decor is easy to customize, and everything is clean and contemporary, with respects to classic architecture.
Out front are stone stairs and columns that are perfect for portraits, and the venue uses uplighting to accent the architecture. This couple chose purple lights– which matched the bridesmaids dresses– and were also used indoors in the ballroom for mood lighting.
