Julie and Carl’s wedding!!!
Julie had such unique wedding attire!! Her dress, an Ellis Bridals tea-length dress with long, lace sleeves, is one of my favorite wedding dresses ever. Her shoes were simple white heels with a tie closure, but she sent them to Claire Jones of Beautiful Moments in the United Kingdom to be hand painted and personalized with the couple’s names, wedding date, and fairy tale quotes! The wedding invitations are black and white in orange envelopes to echo the Halloween weekend wedding. Just before getting into their dresses at the Hilton Garden Inn, the girls all toasted mimosas in their floral robes.
Julie’s mom helps her into her dress and pins on the veil in Exton, PA. Her maid of honor does the buttons on the dress and helps with the hair. Julie bought her fancy earrings at the Wedding Pavilion VanCleve in Paoli, brand is Sara Gabriel.
My second shooter, Erik Matey, took the black and white groom prep shots at the Hilton Garden Inn in Exton, PA. After everyone was ready, We all headed to Marsh Creek Lake for the first look, and went right into the bridal party photos. This wedding party silhouette was intended to be a normal photo, but the bright sun came out from behind a cloud so I changed my plan and made something different!
Julie and Carl’s wedding party were all great sports and we had a great time photographing them in the park! The Maroon and orange colors in the flowers and dresses let you know it’s a fall wedding, if the trees don’t give it away first. 🙂
Julie and Carl are absolutely adorable together, and photographing them is quite easy! We could stick them in any spot and perfect photos would present themselves!
I love this image of Julie as she leans on Carl’s chest for a snuggle. The fall foliage and lake are behind them, and the afternoon sunlight shines on their shoulders.
After the formals in the park we all headed to Saint Patrick’s Church in Malvern for the Catholic ceremony.
The ceremony was full of expression and emotion, much like the rest of the day! Father Redcay performed the ceremony at Saint Pat’s, like he does for almost every wedding at the church!
After the ceremony we did a few family formals at the altar. I always photograph a traditional “looking and smiling” photograph for each grouping, but I love and appreciate the more fun and candid images that accompany them!! Both Julie and Carl have amazing families that are so full of love- not to mention they know how to have a good time!
A few more photos of the bridal party at the church, and our lovely couple showing off the altar at St Patrick’s!
Did I mention how much I love Julie’s dress?!?! These are mostly close-up photos but I assure you we took a lot of full length to show off those shoes!!
Meredith Manor was all set up and ready for us when we arrived for cocktail hour. The couple did much of their own decor (…and by couple, I mean the bride, her mom, and her bridesmaids). They had a Virginia Tech jersey as their guest book, mason jar mugs for each guest, and cute chalk board signs all over! The orange and maroon colors remained prominent in the room decor. The cake, by Bakers of Huffington in Downingtown, was on a table in front of the words “best day ever,” and christmas lights lit up the room!
Julie and Carl got introduced to Metallica!! That is my kind of couple!! After a quick head bang, the two began their first dance under the lights of the tent at Meredith Manor.
Toasts and speeches were made by the bride’s parents, maid of honor, and best man. There was no shortage of laughter with this crew!
Julie danced with her dad, Carl danced with his mom, and then the couple cut the cake- Not too much smashing from these two, just a little icing on the nose.
The party was hopping after Julie and her brother Steve tore up the dance floor! later on The garter and bouquet were tossed, and everyone had a great time!!
Julie surprised Carl with a Whiskey and Cigar Bar at the reception so he could have quality “man time” with his friends that traveled near and far! It was a big hit, and while we had half the crew outside, we organized the group shot for their alma matter, Virgina Tech. A chalk board saying “I love you to Blacksburg and back,” hand-made by the bride, is in the front of this crazy group of college friends.
I absolutely LOVED documenting this fall wedding. The bride and groom are not only adorable together, but Julie is the sister of a groom I photographed earlier in the year – Rob, with his wife Laura.
See their summer Philadelphia wedding here!
I hope to continue to document these families as they grow! <3
